A mild cold wave is sweeping over parts of the country, and it may continue, Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said this morning.
Rajshahi, Rangpur divisions and the district of Chuadanga are feeling the bite of low temperatures.
Temperature between 8-10°C is considered a mild cold wave, 6-8°C a moderate cold wave, and less than 6°C a severe cold wave.
The lowest temperature in the country was recorded at 7.6°C in Rajshahi’s Badalgachhi in 24 hours till 6am on Tuesday.
The highest temperature was recorded at 28.6°C in Teknaf during this time.
Besides, moderate to thick fog may occur over the river basins and northwestern part and light to moderate fog may occur elsewhere over the country from midnight to morning.
“The weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy skies over the country. Night and day temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country,” the BMD said.
